Gas safety: If you smell natural gas, leave the building immediately. Do not operate electrical switches, appliances, phones, or flames in the affected area. From a safe location call 911 and CPS Energy at 210-353-4357. Do not try to locate the leak yourself.
How we test and repair
Once the property is safe for plumbing service, Smith & Sons can pressure-test the system, use soap testing and gas-detection equipment, locate failures, repair individual leaks, or repipe larger sections/system when needed.
Meter lockouts
If the utility has locked out a gas meter, the system may require full testing, repair, inspection, and utility coordination before service can be restored. We handle applicable permitting, inspections, and coordination for the plumbing scope.
Materials and installation
We commonly work with black iron and TracPipe CSST. Routing, protection, grounding/bonding, sleeving, and other applicable requirements are handled as part of the actual project.
